HoPo, what is that?
HoPo is the short name for university policy in German.
These pages are intended to create transparency, clarify structures and make it easier to get involved in HoPo.
One of the various committees is the StuPa. We are the next-highest decision-making body for the student body here in Landau. We have summarized how StuPa meetings are organised and how you can submit items and motions.
Other university bodies we collaborate with include the AStA in Landau. Since the fusion of the University of Landau with the University of Kaiserslautern, we’ve also been working closely with the student body in Kaiserslautern.

Senate
Another important body is the Senate.
The Senate serves as the interface between the student body, faculty, and other university staff, as well as the university administration. Each year, four senators are elected per campus to represent the student body on that campus.
This committee generally addresses administrative issues at the university, as well as the appointment of new professors and research matters.
It’s cool but also important that student senators have the right to speak and vote in the Senate. Some non-student senators only have the right to speak, which means they wield significant influence in the Senate.
Department Council
In addition to the Senate, there is also the Departmental Council, in German Fachbereichsrat. You can find more information here:
